This country-rap, hip-hop song with country-subject-matter song was only reluctantly played on country radio and banned from Billboard’s country singles chart. It became the #1 song in the nation and is interesting because it is a cross cultural genre mix and exposed prejudices and an identity crisis in the country music establishment. - Denyce Graves, Angels Watching Over Me (Academy Sound and Vision)
